  • Description

Laem Singh Beach is a hidden gem nestled on the west coast of Phuket, between Kamala and Surin beaches. Its secluded nature, steep-sided bay, and towering palm trees give it the feel of a secret beach, though it is visible from a popular viewpoint along the coastal road.

Key Features of Laem Singh Beach:
Location: Between Kamala and Surin beaches, viewable from the coastal road.
Activities: Bodyboarding in the northern part, swimming and snorkelling in the southern part with excellent visibility and abundant marine life around the rocky headland.
Scenery: Beautiful sandy beach with large granite rocks and lush greenery.
Getting to Laem Singh Beach:
Due to a land dispute, direct access to Laem Singh Beach has been restricted. However, you can still reach it by boat from the southern end of Surin Beach. The cost is approximately 100 baht per person or 400 baht for the entire boat. Note that there is no pier for boarding, so you will need to wade into the water and climb into the boat.

Boat Trip Details:
Departure Point: Southern end of Surin Beach.
Cost: 100 baht per person or 400 baht for the entire boat.
Procedure: Board the boat from the beach, receive a card for the return trip, and present it to the boat crew when you want to return to Surin Beach.
Facilities and Amenities:
Restaurant: A modest yet beautiful Thai restaurant with a wooden terrace offering stunning views. The food is good, and the staff are friendly. Cold drinks are available.
Souvenirs and Massage: A few vendors sell souvenirs, and Thai massages are occasionally available on the beach.
Visiting Laem Singh Beach:
From Surin Beach: Walk south along Surin Beach until you see a white sign near the sea and a person standing next to it. This is where you can arrange the boat trip.
Hiking Path: If you’re adventurous and physically able, you can reach Laem Singh Beach by hiking. The path begins just after Patcharin Seafood restaurant at the south end of Surin Beach. It’s not recommended for young children or those with poor balance as it involves climbing rocks and navigating a somewhat challenging trail.
Viewpoints:
Laem Singh Viewpoint: A popular stop on the coast road between Kamala and Surin beaches, offering excellent views of Phuket’s sunsets and the beach below. The viewpoint has seating and a roof for shelter from the sun.
Tips for Visiting Laem Singh Beach:
Seasonal Access: The beach is best accessed by boat during the high season (November to April) when the sea is calm.
Equipment: Snorkelling gear can be rented on the beach for 100 baht.
Timing: Visit early to avoid crowds and enjoy the serene beauty of the beach.
Laem Singh Beach remains one of Phuket’s most beautiful and secluded spots, offering a unique and tranquil experience away from the bustling main beaches. Whether you choose to arrive by boat or brave the hiking path, the journey to Laem Singh Beach is well worth the effort for its stunning scenery and peaceful atmosphere.

Fuimos con mucha ilusión y para nuestra sorpresa la playa estaba llena de basura! Tanto en la arena como dentro del agua… muy triste ver algo así.

A lot must have changed here since these other reviews. Sadly this beach is absolutely disgusting and covered in rubbish. Very disappointing and the dirtiest beach I have ever been to

Wonderful beach! This is the best one until now! Clear water, beautiful view! We took the path from the south of surin beach...15 minutes by walking. It's not a difficult path if you are in good health and it is really worth the view! We personally decided to put on shoes for walking. A lot of people went by flip flop or also barefoot but for me...life is a gift...why take a risk if it's not necessary? Near the beach there is a restaurant....the food is really good and the people that work there are really nice! Today there was an old lady preparing juices and smoothies...she was so cute! And her mango juice was the best I had on this holiday! There are umbrellas and beach loungers...100bath for loungers. Things I didn't like: 1) today some guys arrived and put on loud music all day....if you want to listen to music take your earbuds with you 2) some guys used and destroyed an umbrella and they didn't pay anything for the damage 3) tourists drinking and leaving their garbage there The problem obviously is not the beach...it is the human being....do a favour to everyone...if you go somewhere to have a holiday, learn how to behave beforehand.

Start from Tukta food&drink on left hand side of Surin beach. If you like a little bit walking, you must explore this spot. The trail is on the rock all way long. I think it is not dengourus. You can bring kids. I suggest you check in on day time at sunny day. There is still nurture and forrest cover at the beach. There are only few people visiting and no shop. You can do sunbathing if you want. Just taking care of yourself.

Love this picturesque beach. A shadow remains here till 2-3 p.m. You will certainly see rubbish near trees. It's easy as pie for you to take away some bottles and one day this place will become one of the cleanest on Phuket.

Incredible. Highly recommend, it's accessible through boat (I don't know about other beaches, but one is at Surin beach) or through a trail to the very left of Surin beach when facing the ocean. It's nice, quiet, the trail is AMAZING. It's picturesque. You pass a little cute cafe overlooking the bay before arriving at the beach. There's not many people and some lounge chairs available for rent. Amazing for snorkeling. Jungle paradise.
