We have been to Phi Phi four times now and have actually stayed at this hotel THREE times - 2018, 2022 and most recently 2024 - just a few days ago. We re-booked because the first two times here was good and suited our needs. ||I am unsure why this hotel has bad reviews. To be honest, we actually thought the hotel this time was better than previous trips because the hotel rooms look like they have had a bit of a makeover. Check in was fine. No problems. Pool is good. Location is awesome (best thing about the hotel!)||I would say the following - we have travelled all over the world and you need to lower expectations a little in Thailand. It’s not like the Caribbean or even Europe. 5 star in a Thailand beach resort is not like 5 star in Mexico or even Tokyo - even Bangkok. The hotels can be a bit rustic. We have only stayed here for one night in each occasion so understand if you are doing a week on Phi Phi you may need more but you must realise you’re on a little cut-off island. The rooms are a tad basic and the water form the shower is salty (as another guest observed) but as a place to bed for the night or two, you really can’t go wrong. ||Our kids (15 and 11) enjoyed an hour in the pool and the room was more than enough for us to crash and then enjoy the islands night life and also a long tail boat the day after. You can catch a boat trip literally outside the hotel for a reasonable price and all other amenities like shops, bars and restaurants are within walking (or crawling!) distance. ||We will be back!

I recently stayed at Chaokoh Phi Phi Hotel and Resort in a Superior Twin Room with No View for one night, and the experience exceeded my expectations. The hotel boasts a lovely pool and a great atmosphere that makes it a perfect getaway spot. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the positive experience.
One thing to highlight is that the taps have salt water, which is expected on a small island, but it wasn't an issue for me at all. It’s a minor aspect compared to all the wonderful amenities and the overall ambiance of the hotel.
I highly recommend Chaokoh Phi Phi Hotel and Resort to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay on Phi Phi Island. I will definitely be returning!

This hotel is fine. Yes, it smells like sewer. The rooms are clean and the pool is lovely. You can clearly see them working hard to upgrade the rooms, building and the pool. I suggest pool chair cushions next for them! Incredible location.

We stayed for one night as we were travelling around Phi Phi for just a night. The hotel facilities themselves were nice such as the pool and reception area. However, this is the only hotel I have visited in Thailand in which you cannot get beach towels? Many hotels provide these free of charge. This hotel had huge signs up saying 2000 baht charge for taking towels to the beach! I think this is ridiculous. Upon entering the room I found it to be clean however I found two extensive lists of broken/misplaced/dirty item fine sheets!! I thought this was extremely excessive and almost threatening. I felt worried to use anything incase I accidentally damaged it or got makeup on the towels or bed sheets as this incurred a large fine! I have travelled globally and never witnessed such a thing. The fine sheet even incurred a charge for a misplaced tea spoon?! Some of the staff were lovely but some were also rather rude. My partner didn’t know you could not wear your sliders in the sun lounger area within the pool and the pool attendant screamed over “take your shoes off now”. I also found this to be extremely rude. I wouldn’t stay here again.
Everything about this hostel was great!! The two young ladies at the desk are so helpful and kind. Always spoke and smiled, the rooms were always cleaned every morning on the dot, you have to request new towels and sheets so please be mindful they don’t know anything if you don’t speak for yourself that’s common courtesy. My only concern was the showers being lightly salty. This may not be their fault fyi. Great location, it’s quieter than the bar krabi side, cheaper foods nearby, Long Beach is so much more pleasant and less crowded. This hostel with everything combined is 10/10

Me and my husband stayed in the garden room. We thought the property looked very aesthetic and the location is great but our room had some issues... First, the air conditioner barely works; it’s more like a fan. We found the weather outside to be cooler than our room. The front desk was helpful by sending someone to our room to fix it, but there wasn’t any major improvement. Entering our room was also very unpleasant because it smelled like sewage throughout the halls. The door was also very hard to open and felt like it would break at any second with applied pressure. Lastly, the shower water temperature doesn’t stay consistent and gradually gets hotter every so often. This place looks great on the outside but these small issues definitely ruined our experience.

Really decent hotel. The pool was great, right in the centre of everything so easy to get to everything and the rooms were really clean and spacious too. Only negative I would say is the bar was very understocked and everything I asked for was unavailable!

One of the finest hotels near beach and the pier.

Breakfast price is high if you included breakfast its almost gonna cost 54$..That is huge.
Overall experience is very good.
Do not recommend staying here, unfortunately. The tap water for showering and washing hands was salty and not pleasant at all. There was a very bad smell (like rotten eggs) outside as we walked from our room to reception every day to go to the main strip. Got bitten 11 times throughout the night in the bed by mosquitoes. No laundry washing facilities, or laundry services on site either. Pool is nice, So much potential for this hotel but still a wee way to come. The room was nice to stay in and very roomy, and location is great but the cons of staying here, took over the positives.
