Amazing atmosphere for a beach side restaurant. Food was amazing. Definitely get them shrimp fried rice as a side dish. Large but delicious. Had shared a few dishes and everyone was delicious! Be mindful there are a lot of cars roaming around inside but they are well behaved and friendly.

The Chao Koh Thai Restaurant is just across from the Chao Koh Phi Phi Hotel and Resort. The open air, but covered seating has stunning views of the limestone cliffs that majestically mesmerize on the Tonsai Beach side of the island. The tranquil bay, the boats, all provide stunning vistas that leave you awestruck. With this backdrop, let’s talk about the food. The lunch and dinner menu covers both Thai and Western fare. The speciality here is the fresh seafood, that is maintained in tanks in front of the restaurant, with fresh catch of the day samples also displayed on ice. I had barbecued tiger prawns on one night with a side of mashed potatoes. It also came with drawn butter and a seafood sauce. I also asked for Thai chilis with fish sauce. While the prawns were fresh (I chose them off the ice) they came out slightly dry. The second night, I had their freshly caught sea bass. It turned out to be the whole fish, the meat pieces deep fried and lightly stir fried with chili and onions. Sadly no sauce. After me asking why (because I had checked before ordering), they said that they could bring a black pepper sauce on the side. This was superb with onions, chilis and intoxicating flavors. I used this to cover the fish pieces and it definitely enhanced the dish. The garlic and butter fried rice was nothing to write home about. On my third night, I was at the restaurant, again. Ordered the spicy cucumber salad (with anchovie dressing) and the tiger prawns, in black pepper sauce. Both dishes absolutely blew me away. Honestly, I have never had anything like this, anywhere in the United States. There was the perfect symphony of textures, flavors, and robust tastes and fragrances. And both dishes had dynamic Hollywood optics. Wow, I think I was taken to another place when I was eating…. absolutely spectacular. Look for my pictures. Service at the restaurant is attentive, obliging and high class. Thank you, Bus. The other side of the restaurant has a breakfast buffet every morning. The selections are limited, with Thai and Western items. I always went for their Thai options. The fried rice was always spectacular. That with the fish preparation of the morning, always hit the spot.

Ordered a burger for lunch and it was cooked very rare inside. I still ate it and it was good. Just be aware, ask for your meat cooked to your liking. Service was speedy and efficient. The views are stunning.

Less interesting restaurant in Thailand so far. It was a buffer menu part of day-trip to Phi Phi, yet we have the same experience with other day-trips and they were way better.

During our Phi Phi Islands tour, the tour operator took us to a restaurant for lunch. Unfortunately, the overall food experience was disappointing. The chicken wings fry was the only dish that I somewhat enjoyed, but it didn't leave a lasting impression. Most of the other dishes failed to satisfy my taste buds, and I ended up eating them just to curb my hunger. On the bright side, the restaurant's location was undeniably beautiful, offering picturesque views that added a positive touch to the visit. Despite the pleasant setting, the lackluster food quality overshadowed the ambiance. Overall, while the restaurant had a scenic advantage, the unsatisfactory food left me wanting for better culinary delights during our island tour.

Skip skip skip.. we saw this place on the way to fire show and loved the setting and live music which was beautiful but we didn’t read the reviews and ordered steaks which costed us 750 and 850 baht each. The food was not good at all and overpriced. My steak was raw and they had to cook it twice but still it wasn’t cooked properly. Come here for a drink and listen to nice music but DO NOT EAt!

I only gave it 2 stars for the location and view. Definitely come here for drinks. They offered 10% off which was kind but as I didn’t eat any of my meal I would have preferred the dish to be removed.

Hello, Following an experience during the month of April, I feel it is more than necessary to warn you. The first point is certainly the most important: a waitress who was more than unpleasant and uncomprehending. Getting a smile is like winning the lottery. The quality of the food is deplorable, and you'll eat much better for less in the night markets. Dishes served were frozen, and ordering errors were made without any commercial gesture. The waitress even threatened to call the police! In short, avoiding this restaurant is the best advice.

Waghyu steak is good, nicely prepared. The waghyu burger is juicy and comes with fries. Black pepper beef with garlic is nice, prawn with yellow curry is different, no gravy & not spicy. The service..wanted to sit by the ocean front, was told by the male server, we need to spend 2500 Bhat, we don't even know how much we will be spending, for sure there are 5 of us. Anyway...it is what it is.
