Come to Arat for a professional massage, run by a couple that are trained and clearly know muscles and physiology. The massage here was much better than others we’ve had in Thailand. My masseuse was able to find muscle tightness and release it through pressure points. Expect a little bit of pain, which is normal when working out muscle knots. You get out what you put in, so come prepared with a translation app and describe any problem areas or tightness across your body—they’ll address your needs!

Arat Massages is a hidden gem on this island. Both Mr. and Mrs. are honest professionals who truly know their craft. My wife and I have been regulars for nearly 2 months, eagerly anticipating each visit. Their massages have alleviated my back pain and other issues. These massages are a significant reason why I'd love to return to the island or recommend it as a place for excellent body care. I've experienced plenty of good and average massages, but I dare say these family healing massages are the best I've ever encountered anywhere.

Koh Yao is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful islands in Thailand, but its true gem is Mr. Somsak. He is a genuine healer. I first sought his treatment last year after suffering from chronic shoulder pain for two years. I was even planning to undergo surgery. However, after just three 90-minute sessions with Mr. Somsak, the pain was gone, and the rest is history. I knew I had to see him again, and fortunately, it happened within a year. If I could, I would come here each day! In 2 weeks we have been here 5x. I had an issue around 5 months ago on my lower spine (discus Lapsus). Told her that I feel my nerve and where it hurts. She told her husband and he did miracles 😍 First or second season even I felt the difference! Today now in 1h we are there again. I leave in one week Thailand without the pain I was coming here… Many thanks, some points may hurt you where he pushes, but he knows exactly what he is doing! Also my girlfriend enjoyed the massage and asked for more food/oil massages. Her wishes (as she is less resistant to minimum pain) to have more softer massage where accommodated! 100% I would recommend this couple for massages! Super experienced! Go there even you’ve spine issues,… tell them and get the support you need. Had 8 sessions with my physio therapist in Austria that helped almost nothing,…

Best massage I've had in SE Asia. Arat and her man both completed training in the Union of Thai Traditional Medicine. She knew where my problems were by the strokes of her hands and fingers. And discovered even more when she found additional trigger points on my body. I extended it from 60 to 90mins for I felt it was real proper massage therapy. She let me look at her coursework books and it was like a combination of theories from accupuncture, anatomy trains, energy flow lines. She'd be like saying prayers during therapy. Mr Somsak joined in for a few firmer strokes and thumps on my troubling back. The setting was simple, lacked privacy and one has to prepare to undress till the underpants in the open, but the place felt clean. The whole thing felt very professional and I hope I can return for another treatment some time. Thank you Arat.

I have struggled with my back pain for years. In the lower section and in the top near my shoulders. After travelling over a month backpacking, the pains have got worse. I visited Arat with my partner and friend after a recommendation from locals. Wow! The BEST massage I have ever received, and treatment for my back. I have came to Thailand many times for massage, but this was different. I would visit Koh Yao Noi just for this massage again. They have released all pressure in my lower back, and my movement is free again. Not painful, but uncomfortable during some parts of the massage, but this is necessary for the relief. Thanks so much for everything. We will never forget you!
