Ambiance and Experience

Reaching Viewpoint 1 involves a relatively short but steep hike, which can take around 20-30 minutes depending on your pace. Along the way, visitors are greeted by shaded paths and occasional seating areas, providing rest stops for the journey up. Once at the viewpoint, you’re rewarded with a spectacular, unobstructed view of Ao Ton Sai and Ao Loh Dalum, the two crescent-shaped bays that make Phi Phi Island so iconic. The area is well-maintained, with a few spots for sitting and taking in the scenery.

Scenic Beauty

The sweeping view of Phi Phi’s turquoise waters, sandy beaches, and green hills makes Viewpoint 1 a photographer’s dream. Most visitors prefer to come early in the morning or late afternoon to catch the sunrise or sunset, when the lighting is most dramatic, casting a golden hue over the landscape. The path is well-paved but can be steep, so wearing comfortable shoes is advisable. It’s a good option for families or those who prefer a more relaxed hike while still enjoying amazing views.

The Phi Phi Viewpoint is absolutely incredible, especially at sunset. Watching the sun set over the island was an unbelievable experience. Be prepared, though, as there are what feels like a million steps to climb—so get ready for a workout! You pay 50 baht at Viewpoint 1, where they also sell water to keep you hydrated. From there, you can continue climbing to two more viewpoints, with Viewpoint 3 offering a fantastic café where you can relax and enjoy the view. I had an unforgettable moment there—while caught up in the beauty and taking photos, I left my wallet on a bench at Viewpoint 1. After climbing to Viewpoint 3 and realizing my wallet was missing nearly half an hour later, I rushed down in a panic. To my relief, the kind guy at the ticket booth had it, thanks to a wonderful soul who turned it in. His smile as I arrived, drenched in sweat and out of breath, was heartwarming. The entire experience was intense but amazing. I’ll definitely visit again!

What a good exercise to climb up here and see a great view of Phi Phi Island from top. Make sure you finish all the 3 view point up there. Really satisfying. Here’s some of our pics at Viewpoint 1. Enjoy!!

must visit place if you’re in Phi Phi Island. Needs a steep climb appx 15-20 mins to arrive here. Since it’s a private property, they charge 50 THB as fees in cash. But totally worth it. Best for sunsets. Once you make it here you can relax in some cafés around the view point.

The Phi Phi Viewpoint offers an amazing panoramic view of the islands, making the hike up totally worth it. The surroundings are lush and serene, giving you a breathtaking sight of the beaches and turquoise waters below. There's a small entry fee of 60 baht, but the view from the top is definitely worth the price. It's a perfect spot to relax and take in the beauty of Ko Phi Phi. The climb can be a bit steep, so wearing comfortable shoes is recommended.

It’s a great hike with beautiful views but can be a bit challenging on a hot day. There are steps and it can get steep at some point. I’d say to go there for sunrise or sunset to get the best out of it.

Do the walk early in the morning to avoid the heat! We went around 10am and it was already too hot. This made the walk very hard, as there is no shade. Theres a viewpoint halfway and then another at the top. Go all the way, it is worth it! And there is a small shop at the top of the hill. Where you can buy a cold drink and enjoy the views.

Great viewpoint. worth the hike off about 5 to 10 minutes. There are three viewpoints along this road. If you are not into a little hike, you can at least go to the first viewpoint of this place, it'll be worth it! View point one and view point two are on private lands. So the entrance fee to this view point one is 50 baht as of 2024. There are benches and places you can sit on and watch the sunset. There is a small convenience store you can buy water and some soft drinks.

Gorgeous! We just went to the first viewpoint as it was very hot but it was beautiful. Steps are short but steep up to it so bare this in mind if any mobility issues.
