Ruan Thai restaurant

Place was nice, service was good, the food wasn’t. 2 in our group had the lamb massaman and it was as dry and tough as old leather. Our jaws ached after each mouthful. Restaurant had a pleasant setting if you’re looking for somewhere else to dine on the island, you’ll have to book though as it fills up, not sure why

Ryan Thai is a highlight of our visit to Phi Phi islands. The restaurant is located up on the hill and in a traditional style. The resort offers a club car to drop you at the restaurant from your room. On arrival we enjoyed live music and throughout our meal. We ordered the tasting menu and it was such a great way to sample many different Thai dishes in one evening. I’m not sure what the negative reviews have been, but we loved our time at the restaurant and will absolutely be back on our next trip.

We ate here for our wedding anniversary and had the Thai tasting menu. My wife is allergic to peanuts but they accommodated us with no issues, making dishes without any peanuts. At the end, we were so full. Service was amazing and the setting is beautiful. Definitely recommend a visit here and do the Thai tasting menu as there is so much food to eat. I can’t think of better value for money.

The service at Ruan Thai is flawless. The waitstaff are incredibly kind and welcoming, enhancing the dining experience with their attentiveness. The restaurant's location, perched on the hills, provides a breathtaking view over the sea, adding a magical backdrop to our meals. The terrace is always clean and the seating arrangement is thoughtfully designed to offer a private dining experience, free from the disruptions of conversations from other tables. Our longing to return to Phi Phi Island is partly fueled by the wonderful experiences we had at this restaurant. The exceptional taste that graced our evenings at Ruan Thai has left a lasting impression, and we eagerly anticipate the joy of revisiting this culinary gem.

I wouldn't recommend the tasting menu unless you have a huge appetite. The variety is brilliant as a way to sample the range that Thai cuisine offers, but the portions are unmanageable and we found it a bit embarrassing how much food we were wasting as a result. Especially as by Thai standards it's a very expensive meal. The restaurant is beautiful, the service was perfect and the food was pretty good, but the portioning was a problem.

Food was ok ok, ambiance and the hotel location was fantastic but unfortunately there are no fans on the premise, this made it very very hot and humid. Could not enjoy the food, had to skip the dessert.

A definite destination while in Saii. Good choices of Thai , but also other varied dishes.

Atmosphere is amazing, food is not fresh at all. We asked the waiter, they said seafood is from frozen. It was disappointed because this hotel is supposed to be the best. The food quality is such a let down. The most important for Thai restaurant should be ingredients.

A real letdown. The atmosphere and service were impeccable, and the appetisers were good, but the main dishes were a total disappointment. We got three dishes: a yellow curry, which was OK but nothing spectacular, and then a chicken stir-fry and a beef BBQ dish that were just straight-up bad. The chicken stir-fry was bland and cold, the meat was under-seasoned and over-cooked.
